Legal Age To Gamble
Make sure you are the legal age to gamble or older. The minimum legal age to gamble in a casino or to play social casino games depends on which state you are in. For the vast majority, the minimum age to gamble in a casino is 21. There are some exceptions; Washington, Idaho, South Dakota, Oklahoma, Montana, Minnesota, and Georgia (on cruise ships) permit gambling from age 18.
Cyber Security:
You should also take responsibility to ensure that members of your household who have access to your computer or mobile device are not able to access your casino account. Take care to keep your username and password private and secure. This is especially true of members of your household under the age of consent. By setting controls in place for shared devices you can conduct responsible gambling.
You can also install several software programmes to prevent underage access to gambling sites, that will also protect your children and vulnerable household members from pornographic, violent and potential harmful content.
Play responsibly:
We encourage everyone to practice responsible gambling. Follow our guide on how to practice safer gambling.
Gambling is a form of entertainment. It is not a get rich scheme. It is not a way to supplement your income and it is certainly not a way to substitute your income.
Never Gamble to pay off your debts.
The very nature of casino and betting platforms is for the company to make money, and in order for them to do that, players need to lose. You play in the hope that you might get lucky and win, but you are much more likely to lose. This risk is part of the fun, and as soon as it stops being fun, you must stop gambling.
Never wager more than you can afford to lose comfortably.
Never wager with your daily expense funds, or funds that are already accounted for (for example to pay rent, bills, or subsistence for you and your family).
Never chase your losses.
Set limits for yourself based on how much you want to deposit and spend during a specific time frame, and how much you are prepared to lose, and how long you want to play for on a weekly or monthly basis.
Setting gambling limits:
Trustworthy gambling sites include safeguarding measures to help protect players and prevent gambling becoming a larger part of your life than it should. You don’t have to wait until you are worried that you may have a gambling problem to set limits, they are designed to help prevent you reaching that point, so start your gambling experience by self imposing limits or manually applying in your casino account.
- Set a deposit limit: you can choose a capping amount daily/weekly/monthly/annually and your account won’t let you surpass this.
- Cooling-off period: you can apply a login restriction on yourself for a certain amount of time, during which time you will not be able to play. This is particularly helpful after you have played and either won or lost to enable you to quit whilst you are ahead or preventing chasing your losses.
- See profit and loss statistics: Take a look at how much you have spent and lost during a specific time period. When you see it all at once you might see how much more you spent than you realized and think of how better that money could have been spent.
- Reality check: set up a popup timer to ask you if you still want to play while you’re logged in after a certain period of time. This is mandatory for all UK online casinos.
- Self-exclusion or self-ban: choose to exclude yourself from accessing your account for a set amount of time. It is extremely healthy to take a break from a casino to prevent it becoming part of your daily or weekly habit to play.

Ask yourself the following questions, or apply them to someone you may be concerned about:
